There is a story in the bible about Elijah, that he believed for rain, though the sky was clear. He had his servant look again and again, seven times Elijah said, "Go back" and there was nothing to see but Elijah prayed and trusted and prayed, then the report came back, "I see a cloud on the horizon, I see a cloud as small as a man’s hand rising from the sea."
James in his letter states that "Elijah was a man just like us." When we see clear blue skies and have nothing to show, like Elijah we need to pray in faith, we need to pray humbly and we need to pray persistently with focus and expectation. And though the sky may be clear with no clouds in sight we need to stand in hope as we watch the skies and keep listening for the sound of those words, "I see a cloud."
