Catalyst Vineyard Church

WHAT TO EXPECT

The weekend worship experience at Catalyst Vineyard Church is composed of two primary elements:

  1. Passionate live worship music led by talented artists.

  2. A relevant Bible-based message you can apply to your life.

Our goal is to create a casual relaxed atmosphere that removes barriers for all people, especially those who have been disillusioned by previous church experiences.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

The answers provided below to these frequently asked questions should help you feel more comfortable joining us for a Sunday service.

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?

We encourage you to arrive 15 to 30 minutes prior to the start of either of our services to take part in our pre-service Catalyst Café.  The café offers coffee, tea, bottled water, juice, bagels and fruit. It will also provide time to connect with others. We will open the theatre for seating 10 minutes before each service starts and encourage everyone to find a seat with their friends and family in the theatre prior to the start of the service.

WHERE DO I PARK?

Street parking is often available within walking distance of our 417 West State Street location in The Kitchen Theatre. There are also plenty of parking spaces available in the VFW parking lot next to the Kitchen Theatre off West Green Street. Please do not park immediately adjacent to the VFW building as those spaces are reserved for VFW members only. Look for our signs to help guide you to the parking area and into the Kitchen Theater.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Bottom line: we are more concerned with people than we are with how they dress. We dress casually at Catalyst and want you to feel comfortable in your attire when you join us for a service.  The majority of those who attend are in t-shirts and jeans rather than coats and ties or dresses and heels. In the summer you will also see some of us in shorts and sandals.

HOW LONG ARE YOUR SERVICES?

Our services last approximately 1 hour; however, we hope you will spend a little extra time before and after the service so we can get to know you.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

Catalyst Kids takes place right next door to the Kitchen Theatre at the VFW.  Catalyst Kids meets in the second floor great room. We create age specific environments for children from toddler to middle school.  Your child will experience Bible-based teaching, music, crafts, and other fun activities designed to introduce them to a life-changing journey of loving God and following Jesus.  Catalyst Kids is led by volunteers who show up every Sunday to care for and love your child. We utilize a check-in system that ensures a safe environment for your child and also allows for efficient drop-off and pick up for parents. Catalyst Kids opens for drop-off 15 minutes before the start of each service.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A SERVICE?

The service will consist of approximately 30 minutes of worship music and announcements followed by a 30 minute message.

WHAT AM I EXPECTED TO DO?

You won’t be asked to do anything other than to relax and enjoy the service.

DO I HAVE TO BRING ANYTHING?

No, but you are welcome to bring a Bible (or your smart phone with a Bible App) and something to take notes with if you’d like. You may also want to download our Catalyst Vineyard App to stay connected with our community or use your smart phone.

WILL THERE BE MUSIC?

When you arrive at The Kitchen Theatre you will probably hear the sound of our Catalyst Worship Team preparing to lead us in worship with instruments such as a guitar, keyboard, and drums.  The music is contemporary in style and easy to sing along with. If you don’t know the words, they will be projected on a large flat screen TV to help you follow along.

WILL I BE EXPECTED TO GIVE MONEY AT THE SERVICE?

We do not expect guests to give to Catalyst and to make sure you feel comfortable in our intimate theatre-seating environment you’ll notice we do not collect an offering.  For those who do want to give to Catalyst you’ll find a popcorn bucket located at our welcome table in the theater lobby where you can leave a check or cash donation. Alternatively, online giving with your smartphone is simple, safe and secure via web or text using Pushpay through the Catalyst Vineyard App.
