He’s mastered shame and trademarked embarrassment. His lies wound, and his accusations sting. He’ll target your body with suffering or build up your pride just to throw you down. Jesus said his mission is to kill, steal and destroy. He’ll steal your joy, kill your peace and destroy your contentment. Yes, the devil is strong, but there’s one power he can’t beat - and He's on your side. This series will help you to learn how to answer When the Devil Knocks.
(1) THE DECEIVER: Sunday June 3rd
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he doesn’t exist. The devil is real and he’s a liar - and he is really, really good at it. He is a deceiver who attacks your mind with lies. Here’s the question - what lies is the devil telling you? This message will take a look at how the devil’s deceit tries to bring us down, and how we can stand strong against him when the devil comes knocking with his lies.
(2) THE DESTROYER: Sunday June 10th
When the devil can’t have our heart, he goes to his backup plan: destruction. He’ll try to break you down until you’re ready to cry out. But your defense is something stronger then any of the devil’s attacks. This message will take a look at how the devil targets your body with suffering to make you impatient with God’s will and the steps we can take to cause our circumstances to work for us and not against us when the devil comes knocking with trials and suffering.
(3) THE RULER: Sunday June 17th
The devil will not only kick you when you are down, he’ll attack you when you're on top. That’s when you are least aware and most vulnerable. Jesus referred to him as the “ruler of this world” who targets your will with pride. You may never be more vulnerable than when you are full of pride. Satan wants you to say, “My will be done” when we should be saying “Thy will be done.” This message will take a look at how we need to rely on the Holy Spirit to produce humility and an attitude of submission to God when the devil comes knocking with pride.
(4) THE ACCUSER: Sunday June 24th
Have you ever been accused of being someone you're not? It’s one of the devil’s go-to tricks. The devil is an accuser who attacks your heart with accusations. But you’re not who he says you are. You’re who God says you are. This message will help you learn how to resist the devil when he comes knocking with accusations, and find restoration and rest in the grace of God.
